The Bull

This commissioned piece is oil paint on plywood. I have left the paint very thin on the background in order to reveal the characteristic and marks of the plywood. May 2022. 1200mm x 897 mm

Dante and Elmo

Elizabeth and Tom commissioned this drawing of Dante and Elmo. Elmo is a wild Australian King Parrot that has a deformed beak and quickly realised that visiting Elizabeth and Tom ensured him his meal for the day. Not having met Dante nor Elmo I’m always worried that I won’t capture their personality in the artwork. But happy to share this quote: “You’ve captured them both, their true essence, so beautiful Rita!”

Running on the Beach

This drawing of these beautiful two friends, that was commissioned for a gift. I really enjoyed developing the idea of movement and just the sheer joy dogs express when running. This is a digital drawing, that was printed on Hahnemühle Rag. Giclée printing process ensures archival quality. The artwork is then hand signed and dated once printed.

Jessie was a special little lady that was dearly loved and is still missed by her family. It has been a privilege to be able to present the family with portrait of their beautiful girl.

Poppy

Capturing the emotions in the dog’s eyes, ensuring that the personality is there when you look at a drawing has always been my aim when doing a commissioned portrait. The fur is developed through layers and layers of lines drawn. I really enjoyed drawing Poppy, and she reminds me of my own little companion Shiro.
